Annual Wage Review 2016

On 31 May 2016, the Fair Work Commission announced a 2.4% increase to minimum wages, effective from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July 2016.

As of 1 July 2016, the National Minimum Wage will be $672.70 per week or $17.70 per hour.

The 2.4% increase only applies to employees paid pursuant to:

  • the National Minimum Wage;

  • a Modern Award; or

  • an Enterprise Agreement (in some cases).

The increased National Minimum Wage of $672.70 per week or $17.70 per hour applies to employees who are not covered by a Modern Award or Enterprise Agreement.

The 2.4% wage increase does not affect employees who are paid more than the new minimum wage.
